Exam Rules

The following rules are applicable to every student of our college while taking the various written examinations that form part of the internal evaluation process for their curricular courses.

 

1.    No student will be allowed to bring his / her mobile phones in the examination hall.


2.    Each examinee must carry with him / her Identity Card during the examination and produce the same for verification, if required.


3.    The students are expected to take their respective seats 10 minutes prior to the scheduled commencement of the examination.


4.    Students should ensure that they are not having any material related to the subject concerned. Any such material found from the student during the examination hours would be construed as a deliberate attempt to use unfair means and would be dealt with strictly. He / she will be punished according to   the rules stipulated by the college.


5.    No student will be allowed to enter the examination hall 30 minutes after the commencement of the examination.


6.    No students will be allowed to leave the room during the first 30 minutes of the examination.


7.    Exchange (borrowing or lending) of any material such as pen, pencil, eraser, calculator, scale etc. during the examination is strictly prohibited.


8.    No student shall resort to any unfair means of any nature while taking his / her examination. If any student is found resorting to any unfair means during the examination, the said student would be immediately expelled from the exam hall and the matter would be reported to the Examination Committee for  further action.


9.    In case a student is found copying from the fellow student, then both the students would be punished for the same. A copy case would be registered against such students and their answer sheets will not be assessed. His / her marks in the concerned subject are treated as zero and marks of assignment work is also treated as zero.


10.    In case a student has to leave his / her seat for whatever reason, he / she will have to seek the permission of the concerned invigilator(s) of that examination hall before doing so.


11.    No supplementary would be given to the students in the last 10 minutes of the examination.


12.    No students will be allowed to leave the room in the last 10 minutes of the examination. Students who are present in the last 10 minutes of the examination will have to wait till the exam material is collected from all the students by the invigilator.


13.    After leaving the examination hall before the time-limit, the students are not allowed to loiter in the lobby and disturb the examinees who are taking the examination.


14.    In the following circumstances the result of the student will be nullified.

  • If the student takes his / her answer sheet to home. ( The student will have to submit the answer sheet to the invigilator at the end of the exam session.)
  • If the student brings any weapon to the examination centre.
  • If he indulges in any violent behaviour.
  • If any candidate seizes the other’s answer sheet.
  • If it is proved that a ghost writer appeared in place of the original candidate, the result of the original candidate will be nullified.


15.    About the additional examination

  • Only those students, who have taken part in college activities or who have faced untoward incidents and failed to take the internal examination, are entitled to take additional examination.
  • The students, appearing for additional examination, will have to seek prior permission of examination committee. Such students will have to pay the prescribed fees in advance.
  • Those who have taken part in college activities are exempted from the prescribed fees for additional examination.

Guidelines for Internal Examination Committee

 

Our college is affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan.


Our university has adopted following evaluation scheme for B. Com. and M. Com. Programme. (applicable to all subjects)

- 70 % marks to the university examination and
- 30 % marks to internal examination

  • 20 % marks for written examination
  • 10 % marks for assignment work

 

The duties of Examination Committee members have been outlined below,


1.    To declare the date of commencement of the examination at least 30 days before the exam commences on the Notice Board. (on the main Notice Board, Library, Girls Room, Staff Room, College Website, Telegram channel  etc.)


2.    To declare the detailed schedule of examination on Notice Board within next 3 days of the above.


3.    To request all the faculty members on staff notice board to submit the relevant question papers within stipulated time limit. (Soft copy of both the Gujarati and English version. If not possible hard copy of Gujarati version.)


4.    To send the question papers to press after necessary verification.


5.    To receive and get verified the proof of the press copy.  


6.    To display the seating arrangement of all the students on the notice board at least five days prior to the commencement of the examination.


7.    To display the invigilator chart on the staff notice board.


8.    To take all necessary steps for smooth conduct of the examination.


9.    To receive necessary information from the faculty members and prepare the work distribution chart for assessment of the answer books.


10.    To request faculty members to return the assessed answer books back, with statement of marks, within the stipulated time limit. (both hard and soft copies including the marks of assignment and presentation work)


11.    To display the result on notice board. Telegram Channel as well on web site with the intimation that a student can apply within 3 days for rechecking the result of a particular subject.


12.    To declare the additional examination schedule during the time when the regular internal examination is going on. Then to make arrangement for all necessary processes like paper setting, seating arrangement, assessment etc. and complete the additional examination.


13.    To prepare final internal result on the basis of the statement of marks submitted by the faculty members. The passing standard is 40 %. So every student is required to obtain 12 marks out of 30 marks in each subject in the internal examination. In case any student obtains only 11 marks out of 30 marks in one or more subjects, then the examination committee, after analyzing the result, will grace 01 mark to such students to reach the passing level.


14.    In case of a copy case

  • The answer sheet of the student is separately kept in custody of the Examination Committee.
  • Such answer sheets are not assessed. Hence the marks for such students in the particular subject are treated as zero.
  • The marks of assignment work given by such student are also treated as zero.


15.    In the following circumstances the result of the student will be nullified.

  • If the student takes his / her answer sheet to home. (The student will have to submit the answer sheet to the invigilator at the end of the exam session.)
  • If the student brings any weapon to the examination centre.

16.    To submit the result to the university as per the instructions given by the university.
