Welcome to VRPCCM
Shri V. R. Patel College of Commerce was established by a visionary named Shri Balarambhai Kshatriya in the year 1964 as Municipal Arts and Commerce College. It came into existence as a separate commerce college on 1st January, 1986 with the aim of imparting higher quality education in the new emerging and occupational areas of trade and commerce.
After the sudden demise of Shri Anilbhai T. Patel, the former Chairman of Sardar Vidyabhavan Trust (SVT), Mehsana as well as Apollo Group of Industries, Mehsana two years back, the college is presently managed by the same trust under the pious chairmanship of a renowned politician named Shri Arvindbhai T. Patel and the holy leadership of an industrious industrialist and managing trustee Shri K. K. Patel and the devoted trustees as well. The college has been striving for excellence in all the spheres of life with the help of the visionary Managing Trustee Shri K. K. Patel, highly qualified trustees and the staff members of the Sardar Vidya Bhavan Trust since its inception. Sardar Vidya Bhavan Trust runs four colleges: 1. Shri V. R. Patel College of Commerce, 2. Municipal Arts and Urban Bank Science College, 3. Swami Vivekanand Sarvoday Bank College of Education and 4. Shri S. M. Shah Law College.
Ours is a grant-in-aid college affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the UGC act 2(f) and 12 (B). The college has also occupied the leading position among the commerce colleges affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University. In comparison with the commerce colleges affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, it has the distinct status of obtaining the highest grade i. e. A Grade from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). We stand first so far as the strength of the students and the number of subjects offered as principal and subsidiary are concerned. The college with its well defined goals and aspirations is not only committed to quality education but holistic education also.
The college is located in Mehsana on the National Highway that connects all the major parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan including Delhi and northern states of India. Mehsana is well-known for The Milk City and The Oil City as well. It takes pride in having one of the biggest dairies of India named “The Dudh Sagar Dairy” which has brought about the white revolution in the North Gujarat region. The O.N.G.C. Project, situated in the vicinity of Mehsana district, has also made a significant contribution to the development of the city. There are two GIDCs in Mehsana – one on the highway and the other near the village named Dediyasan. The companies belonging to these two GIDCs enjoy the country-wide popularity for their worth-manufacturing products. Chhatral and Kadi are the other places where the large scale industries have been established. The students of our college can have the first hand experience of industrial units and the expertise of the various fields related to industrial products.
Message from Principal
Change is inevitable, survival is optional. Change is inevitable for our existence in the world that has become a global village now-a-days. Knowledge, it is said, is power. In order to gain knowledge, we need to change ourselves at every stage of life. The expanding horizons of knowledge have compelled us to change our notions about education. The government is also making great changes in the educational policies and structure as well. The government has recommended to introduce New Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Change is happening at a great speed in every walk of life. It has also contributed a great deal to alter the present educational scenario. We shall have to look at the very idea of education in a different way since there has been a wide range of the choices in terms of programmes and courses available to the students. They are confused in the selection of the courses offered. Hence, the selection of the best programmes, courses and the institution is a matter of cognizance.
Since its inception we, at Shri V. R. Patel College of Commerce, Mehsana (VRPCCM), have been making great attempts to open up new avenues of knowledge and its branches with the help of our honourable Chairman Shri Arvindbhai T. Patel and the dynamic members of his team i. e. Managing Trustee named Shri K. K. Patel, the Treasurer Shri J. S. Patel and remaining trustees and donors from all walks of life. Our college is affiliated to Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under the UGC Act 2(f) and 12(B). VRPCCM is a grant-in aid institute which imparts quality education to the students belonging to all social strata with a view to developing their all-round personality.
The most qualified, amiable, enthusiastic and highly motivated teachers not only share quality education with the students but also play parental roles during the journey of their student life. The college also provides healthy academic atmosphere to the students for making them efficient enough to acquire employability skills very easily. The dynamic family members of Sardar Vidyabhavan Trust do take keen interest in the curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities of the college for the development of all round personality of the students.
Let me extend our sense of gratitude to the nation by imparting life-oriented education and shaping the future of tomorrow's citizens of India on the basis of moral values like dedication, determination, enthusiasm, gratefulness, dignity etc. I would love to conclude my message to the students by citing the worth-cherishing words of Henry David Thoreau: "I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionnable ability of man to elevate his life through conscious endeavours”.
Dr. J. K. Patel
